2019 Nominations are Open for the ODEMSA Regional EMS Awards


Do you know someone who is an exemplary EMS provider, outstanding EMS administrator, dedicated emergency nurse or physician or an exemplary EMS agency? We're looking for the best of the best and we need your help! Take a few moments to reflect on the many successes of your organization. Are there people you should be recognizing? We think there are! Your mission is to find and nominate someone for a 2019 Regional EMS Award!



This is a fantastic opportunity to honor those people in your region who excel in the EMS field. Submit a Regional EMS Award nomination for one of the eleven categories online. If your nomination is selected for a regional award, it will then be nominated for the statewide Governor's EMS Awards. Applications are due by April 19, 2019.

ODEMSA 2018 Drug Box Inventory Form

This is the new drug box inventory form. Hospitals and agencies should use this form going forward. The move to an electronic form was made for many reasons. Notably, it will allow for greater efficiency with both completing and compiling all the inventories in the region. Additionally, the form will send an automatic receipt for your records to verify you have completed your inventory. Thanks for using to new form and we hope you like it!

ODEMSA has released the 2018 Protocols! 

This is a brand new book and as such we recommend you purchase one or utilize the PDF copy on our website. There is a pre-order form for the books in the link below that is accepted electronically. Please be aware this may take a few weeks to process as we will be placing a bulk order at our vendor. A powerpoint has been completed and is posted below with some links to a few additional training.

The Old Dominion EMS Alliance is one of 11 Regional EMS Councils established within the Code of Virginia, Section 32.1-111.11 to coordinate EMS. Created in 1980, ODEMSA is charged by law "with the development and implementation of an efficient and effective regional emergency medical services delivery system" to include the regional coordination of emergency medical disaster planning and response. It is a corporation under Virginia law and is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a non-profit group under IRS Code 501 (c) (3). Mission Statement: The Old Dominion Emergency Medical Services Alliance, an integral part of Virginia's Comprehensive Emergency Medical Services System, serves to assess, identify, coordinate, plan and implement an efficient and effective regional EMS delivery system within Planning Districts 13, 14, 15 and 19, in partnership with the Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Virginia Emergency Medical Services Advisory Board.
