Event: 'Pharmacy Committee' Print
  Pharmacy Committee
The Committee is made up of pharmacists who represent the 17 acute care hospital pharmacies in the ODEMSA region, and those pharmacists who are involved in other, related aspects of emergency medicine. Prehospital providers and emergency department physicians and nurses are represented on the Committee. The Pharmacy Committee works with ODEMSA in providing regional direction and oversight for the ALS Drug Box program. It recommends standards and practices for the use of medications in out-of-hospital emergency care settings in the ODEMSA region.

The committee meetings are held quarterly.  The meetings are open to all hospital and prehospital healthcare professionals, we encourage broad participation.  The meetings are recorded and minutes are maintained.  All meetings are held at the ODEMSA Conference and Education Center and begin at 08:30 A.M.

The committee is made of pharmacists who represent the 17 acute care hospital pharmacies in the ODEMSA Region, and those pharmacists who are involved in other, related aspects of emergency medicine.  Prehospital providers and emergency department physicians and nurses are represented on the Committee.

The Pharmacy Committee works with ODEMSA in providing Regional direction and oversight for the ALS Drug Box program.  It recommends standards and practices for the use of medications in out-of-hospital emergency care setttings in the ODEMSA Region.  The group also supports the coordination, direction and distribution of emergency disaster medications under the Richmond Regional Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS).
