New ODEMSA Team Member

Our family is always growing and changing here at ODEMSA!   With enthusiasm and great anticipation, we welcome Elizabeth "Annie" Edwards to our team.   Annie will be taking the Field Coordinator position for planning districts 15 and 19.   She will be with us full-time and available to answer your questions, serve your agency's needs and educate on many matters.   She will also be speaking to her agencies and hospital partners to do the most important part of her job; learning.   She will be learning your individual needs, learning your unique method of operations, your members and leadership and how ODEMSA can better serve you.   By serving each of our agencies better, we serve our region better.   We know you are as proud of the ODEMSA region as we are, after all, it's YOUR region!   Annie can't wait to get started on her new mission!

Annie has been in EMS since 2004 when she received her EMT.   That is when she first started her awareness of ODEMSA and the foundational supports of the EMS system in Virginia.   She continued to receive her paramedic certification in 2007 and has since decided to go to nursing school.   With an outgoing personality, a beautiful smile and an understanding mind, she is the whole package! Annie is married and has four wonderful, beautiful children.   She lives in Powhatan, VA with her family and fur babies.   In her free time, Annie enjoys being a yoga instructor, going to the beach and helping her husband with their cattle.

Annie will be visiting each of her agencies and hospitals very soon.  Should you need her, please save her contact information:

We're pleased to present the winners of our 2016 Regional EMS Awards Program.  Winners were honored at the ODEMSA Regional EMS Picnic and Awards Ceremony held at the Metro-Richmond Zoo, August 6, 2016.

It was certainly inspiring to see so many amazing individuals and agencies, dedicated to providing the highest level of care in their communities, at the awards gathering.  "Winners are recognized, by their peers, for their exceptional contributions made to the Virginia EMS system.   The awards are a small token of appreciation for all do to enhance prehospital patient care in the region", said ODEMSA Executive Director Heidi Hooker, during the ceremony.   ODEMSA is proud to honor  EMS practitioners throughout the ODEMSA Region for providing high quality prehospital care.   We ask that you start thinking about your choices for the 2017 Awards Ceremonies.
