We are very proud to announce the winners of our 2009 annual award program, the winners were honored at the ODEMSA Regional Awards Banquet held on July 31, 2009.
This year, we received an unprecedented number of entries for our award programs. While it was great to see so many people take the time to enter, it made the job of our award committee all that much harder.
It was certainly inspiring to read about so many amazing individuals and agencies that are dedicated to providing the highest level of care in their communities; ODEMSA is proud to honor EMS practitioners throughout our region for providing high quality prehospital care. When you nominate someone you not only recognize the candidate, you honor and recognize the EMS profession and all EMS practitioners who provide emergency patient care to their communities every day. Start thinking about your choice for the 2010 Awards ceremonies.

Each year, Virginia's eleven (11) Regional EMS Councils recognize
excellence in various areas of prehospital medical care with the
presentation of individual and organizational achievement awards. The
Regional Councils conduct Regional EMS Awards programs, hold
recognition ceremonies and publicize the regional winners in their
communities. This statewide regional recognition will honor the
exceptional contributions that members of Virginia's EMS system make in
their communities and help them to be more visible to the people they
serve.

you know someone who is an exemplary EMS provider, outstanding EMS
administrator or dedicated emergency nurse or physician? We're looking for the best of the best and we need your help! Take a few moments to reflect on the many
successess of your organization. Are there people you should be
recognizing? We think there are! Your mission is to find and nominate someone for a 2010 Regional EMS Award!
This is a fantastic opportunity to honor those people in your region
who excel in the EMS field. Submit a Regional EMS Award nomination for
one of the eleven categories either directly to ODEMSA or to your
assigned ODEMSA Field Coordinator. If your nomination is selected for a
regional award, it will then be nominated for the statewide Governor's
EMS Awards. Contact ODEMSA for more information and
be sure to submit your application by June 1, 2010.
